Drug treatment for lung cancer
Patients with lung cancer that has spread to other parts of the body tend to live for only a few months. New medicines for treating some of these advanced cancers are available. Although they improve survival, on average, people only live a few extra months. During this time they may have serious side effects from the drugs.
The best way to deal with lung cancer is to prevent it. This means not smoking.
