Side effects of cancer treatment

The medicines used to treat cancer (chemotherapy) have many side effects. Some patients feel they cannot think clearly after treatment. They may have problems with their memory and concentration.

It is not known why some people get this side effect. Sometimes it cannot be confirmed with tests. If there is an effect, it often wears off after the patient's treatment is completed.

In some patients the problem is caused by anxiety or depression. Treating these conditions may help the patient get back to normal.
