The new antidepressants

Depression is a common mental health problem. Sometimes it requires treatment with drugs called antidepressants. In the past few years, many new antidepressants have become available. These new medicines do not work any better than older antidepressants, but they may cause fewer side effects. A person with depression may need to try a few antidepressants before they find one that makes them feel better without side effects. Common side effects to new antidepressants include feeling sick, tired or nervous. These newer drugs may also help a range of anxiety disorders as well as depression.
